Virtual Programming

ZOOM with us!

We have now closed registration for the virtual afterschool programming.  Thank you to all the Girls Inc. members and their families who have joined us this past school year.  We are so excited to announce our summer Camps and programs and hope to see you there.

Girls Inc. of York Region recognizes that girls face more pressure today than they ever have before. That’s why it’s essential for us to continue to provide girls ages 5 through 18 with a safe space where they can slow down their world, without judgment and stereotypes.

Our Virtual Programs were developed with the same goal as our In person Programs; we actively strive to enhance confidence and self-esteem, while giving our Girls Inc. members the skills and tools they need in order to reach their full capacities, in a safe space where they can enjoy the company of each other, and just be themselves!

PROGRAM: Girls CLUB  |  Ages 5-8
DATE + TIME: Mondays + Thursdays  |  4:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Girls will participate in engaging, educational and fun activities such as
S.T.E.A.M, baking, crafts, physical and sports literacy. They will learn about healthy
friendships, social and communication skills.

PROGRAM: Girls SQUAD | Ages 9-12
DATE + TIME: Tuesdays + Wednesdays  |  4:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.

These sessions will provide girls with the opportunity to participate in hands on, minds on activities, games and programs, with a focus on S.T.E.A.M, self-esteem, mind and body,
healthy relationships/friendships, life skills, sports and more.

PROGRAM: Girls GROUP  |  Ages 13-16
DATE + TIME: Thursdays  |  6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.

Girls will enjoy this program as a safe space to share about social challenges, goals, discover strengths, and discuss important topics in their lives. Some activities will cover advocacy,
relationships, mind+body, communication, sports, and more.

PROGRAM: SHE Leads |  Ages 13-18
DATE + TIME: Mondays  |  6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.

This is a social group for girls who want to build on their leadership, communication, and advocacy skills. This programming puts the tools for empowerment in girls’ hands, encouraging female leadership. This program is also an opportunity for girls to earn their community hours for high school, and receive hands-on experience working in the helping field.

**PLEASE NOTE: Registration for SHE Leads Virtual Program is NOW CLOSED.  If you are looking for opportunities to gain your high school community hours, please contact and we can inform you of any other opportunities we might have, including Summer Camp L.I.T. opportunities.

What to expect
Girls Inc.’s programming focuses on the development of whole girl, and include activities that are specific to girls’ needs. Each session will provide girls with a chance to participate in fun and safe activities, that are hands-on, minds-on. These programs may include packages being dropped off with ingredients for a STEM activity, an active session outdoors, a mindfulness session that includes a quiet room, or a combination of things!

Our Staff are trained individuals, passionate in helping girls reach their full potential. We have specific training in the Community Service Field, along with High Five certification, and First Aid/CPR Level C. We ensure the programs are fun and diverse, and include different forms of facilitation to keep the girls interested and engaged.
