With the investment of monetary gifts last year, we increased the number of girls served with our unique, comprehensive approach that creates a safe place where girls’ interests, opinions and concerns are valued by adults and other girls, trusting relationships with mentors, and hands-on, minds-on experiences that give her the tools to make a plan for her future and thrive.

This work cannot be done alone.  We are honored to work with renowned educational, research, and philanthropic leaders to make the Girls Inc. experience possible.  We raise funds to provide programs that place emphasis on six critical areas of skill development: careers and life planning; health and sexuality; leadership and community action; sports and adventure; self-reliance and life skills; and culture and heritage.  Programs are offered throughout York Region and Bradford and are facilitated by trained professional staff.  Our programming can be offered anywhere girls are found, including Girls Inc. centers, schools, churches, community centers and housing projects.  The majority of Girls Inc. centers are located in low–income areas and provide a weekly average of 30 hours of after-school, weekend and summer activities.
